DoubleChecked strives to ensure that its services are accessible to people with disabilities. DoubleChecked has invested a significant amount of resources to help ensure that its website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, with the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

We build accessibility into the site itself rather than relying on an overlay widget. That means semantic HTML, keyboard reachable navigation, a skip to content link, visible focus states, alternative text on meaningful images, and color choices checked for contrast. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Navigating with a keyboard

Pressing the tab key when a page first loads reveals a skip to content link, which jumps past the navigation to the main content of the page. From there, tab moves through links and controls in order, enter activates them, and your browser or assistive technology settings for text size, zoom, contrast, and reduced motion are respected.
